THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY.

Whereas Wm. M. Shelley and Peter Shelley have been appointe d, and have qualified as Executors of Peter Shelley Deceased
Now we, Wm. M. Shelley & Peter Shelley principal, an d Valentine Kooksey surety, do hereby covenant to and wit h the Commonwealth of Kentucky, that the said Wm. M. Shelle y and Peter Shelley will well and truly administer, accordi ng to law, the goods, chattels, credits, and effects that m ay come to their hands, and the proceeds of any sale, and t he rents and profits of any estate which may come to thei r hands, or any one for them by color of their office, whic h the will empowers them to sell, and will make a just an d true account of all their actings and doings therein, an d will further well and truly pay and deliver all the legac ies specified in said will, as far as the goods, chattels , credits, and other effects will extend. And we furthe r covenant, that they will make a proper distribution of an y surplus effects to the persons entitled thereto.
This 1st day of December 1873.

United States Army in World War One
Died of the flue in Ft Worth at Army Base
He had a Deluxe buggy and a Bay horse that his parents kep t until their death. His death occurred while in the milita ry during WW1. J.C. remembers John Chester and Ed I think t raveling in a buggy to Ft Worth, Texas to an army hospita l to see him. He was dying of the flu at the time of thei r trip.
Question - Tombstone is marked "Ben 2" Why? Who is "Ben 1"
