On 11/11/2001 We were visiting the Rose of Sharon Cemetery . Standing next to James and Sarah's graves Ruth Smith not iced a small tombstone next to Sarah's. It is about one fo ot high. When looking at it she discovered it was the mark er for Anne Melton.
There is an empty grave site next to Anne's grave that is u nmarked. We were unable to find her husband's marker and d o not know if perhaps his is unmarked or not. There ar e 3 other Melton's markers in Rose of Sharon that we will r esearch as possible relatives. The dates of birth and deat h given here are from Anne's tombstone. The single word MO THER was written on her marker above her name.

In the Willie Wright letter written about Lucinda Smith sh e mentions Anna has being named Annie (Smith) Howard. Anni e is buried as a Melton so maybe there was a previous husba nd by the name of Howard to investigate.
