On 2/21/2002 Jim, Beverly, J.C., Ruth, Jay, and Pam visite d the Crandall cemetery with Charles and Dolly Smith. We f ound Charles' marker there. As you drive in his marker i s in the very first section on your left not very far fro m the road.
(Medical):Charles migrated from Clinton County, KY to Crand all, Texas in Kaufman County.

The Wright family left Clinton County, Kentucky for Texas . They were accompanied by Farmers, Smiths, & Ewings. The y were for a time into Oklahoma Indian Territory and then m oved on the Kaufman County, Texas settling in the Warsaw to wnship.

A biography of the James Mann Wright (Grand pa) and Lucind y (Smith) Wright (Grand ma) family, according to one of th e daughters of Louisa Exona (Wright) Ball or Mrs. R.E. Bal l of Tyler, TX who is at present 98 years old. She lived t o be 103 years old.
James Mann Wright was born Oct 5th, 1852, Albany, Clinto n County, Kentucky, just 8 miles from the Cumberland Rive r and 8 miles from the Tennessee line. Lucindy (Smith) Wri ght was born May 30th, 1854 at Albany, Clinton County, Kent ucky.
She was the daughter of William and Belle (Farmer) Smith . Lucindy (Grand ma) had 4 brothers, Charlie Smith, Jim, S mith, John Smith, and Ben Smith.
She had 5 sisters: Jane (Smith) Davis, Lou (Smith) William s, Polly (Smith) McFarland, Annie (Smith) Howard, Sarah An n (Smith) Long.
I, Willie (Wright) Good, have memories of Grand ma Wrigh t and sitting with her as a child when she was sick with ca ncer. I also have memories of Aunt Sarah Ann Long from Wac o and Aunt Polly McFarland from McKinney, Texas and visitin g in our home at Lone Elm and again at Warsaw, Texas.
Uncle Charlie Smith had two sons, Jim and Ben that lived a nd died near Crandall. He, Uncle Charlie was the father o f Schuyler Smith of Crandall and stepfather of Mr. Charli e Crawley, deceased.
James Mann Wright or Grandpa's father's name was William W right and his mother's name was Matilda Hudson and if memor y serves me right she is the one who came from Germany an d was a school teacher.
James Mann Wright had 2 brothers Alvin Wright and Presto n Wright. He also had 3 sisters, Susan (Wright) Hays, Mart ha Ann (Wright) Brown, and Matilda (Wright) Barber.
Jim Mann and Lucindy grew up and were married in Albany, K entucky and left there by train for Texas with their youn g family of 5 children about 1885.
There were three boys and 2 girls in this family.
Sara Matilda (Wright) Duncan born Jan 23rd, 1873, Willia m Sherman Wright, born August 3rd, 1879, Schuyler Emitt Wri ght, born December 20th, 1882; (he died at age 5) and Mar y Etta Wright born in Texas, February 20th, 1886 and is sti ll living at 90 years of age in a nursing home.
This family landed at Forney, Texas and moved to the Brook 's ranch in the Lone Elm Community between Forney and Crand all. There was a cotton gin, a Methodist church, and a on e room school here at the time.
Grandpa bought a house with a little general store at Lon e Elm and lived there until 1911 when he sold out and move d to Crandall and later to Warsaw community.
W.S. Wright bought the Chapman place at Lone Elm and Charl ie Wright bought an adjoining farm and they lived there unt il Nov. of 1911 when W.S. sold out and moved to a farm at W arsaw, TX with his wife Addie (Norton) Wright and their chi ldren.
Grace Dexter (Wright) Deason, born Nov 18th, 1899, died Au gust 15, 1978.

Mattie Lee Wright, born June 2nd, 1905 died June 8th, 1926

Louise (Wright) Hanke, born Oct 10th, 1914 died May 29th , 1978
They built Grandpa Wright a house and grocery store on th e W.S. Wright farm at Warsaw in Kaufman County where he liv ed until he died at the age of 73 in 1924. He is buried b y his first wife in the Forney cemetery over on the back si de near a fence.
W.S. Wright is buried with his wife Addie and daughters Ma ttie, Lillian, and baby Wright in a front lot in the Cranda ll Cemetery. They also have a little granddaughter burie d there, little Betty Sue Wright, David's daughter. Tommi e Jack Wright, son of David Wright was buried in the Cranda ll Cemetery in July of 1976. Louise Wright Hanke died Ma y 1978
