IN 1906 HE WAS EXAMINED BY A DOCTOR FOR THIS PENSION AND TH E FOLLOWING WAS SAID: " I HAVE EXAMINED MR.HARRIS AND FIN D HIM SUFFERING WITH RHEUMATISM IN THE RIGHT HIP AND LEG AL SO IN THE RIGHT ARM AND HAND WHICH RENDER HIM UNABLE FOR WO RK MOST OF THE TIME. HE ALSO IS TROUBLED WITH HIS HEART AN D KIDNEYS. HE ALSO HAS ENLARGEMENT OF THE LIVER. FROM TH E CONDITION WHICH I FOUND MR. HARRIS I WOULD SAY HE IS UNFI T FOR ANY LABOR WHATEVER." J.B. REGESTER.
TRANSFERRED LAND OF 100 ACRES TO HIS SON, GROVER C. HARRI S BEFORE APPLYING FOR SOLDIER'S PENSION.

Information is given to us that there was another child b y the name of Nora. We have been unable to locate such a ch ild.
Hardin Eldridge for a long time was believed to be the fath er of Curtis Elmore Harris and lived next door to the Harri s family in Cumberland Co, KY. He was married to a Nora--d on't know if this is the same Nora talked about by Curtis ' mother.
DIED YOUNG AT POSSIBLE AGE OF 2-3 YRS.
