When Green B. Shelton married the second time he had nine c hildren and his new wife had ten children. This second marr iage produced another child (Becky) and made a total of 2 0 children between this couple. The first and third wive s were sisters. No children born to the third marriage. Th e third wife was the sister of his first wife.

Will of Bartholomew Kindred Sr.

I, Bartholomew Kindred, of Saint Ann's parish, and County o f Albemarle do make
this following testamentary disposition of all my estate, b oth real and personal. It is my will , and I do hereby dire ct that before any distribution of my estate is made, all m y just debts shal l be paid. To my wife Mary, I give my est ate both real and personal during her life; and after h e r decease, I give my son Thomas Kindred and Nancy his wif e during their lives, one hundred acres o f land where he n ow lives; beginning on William Henderson's line, so as to _ ____ ___ my lower field at the spring above the crab appl e tree, and a straight line to the road, then following th e south so as to make out his hundred acres on t he south s ide of the road; and after their decease, I give the said h undred acre s of land to his son Thomas Kindred Jr. and hi s heirs forever. To my son Willia m Kindred and Mildred Pow ers (wife of Norbourn Powers) and their heirs, I give fift y acres of land, to be equally divided between them forever ; beginning on th e said Henderson line, and running to th e road the southeast side, so as to make fifty acres. I d o also give Mildred Powers, one feather bed, stead, and fur niture, with things heretofore given. To my grandson Edwar d Kindred I give thirty a cres of land and to Josiah his br other, the balance. The balance of my estate , I wish to b e sold and the money equally divided amongst, William Kindr ed, Edwa rd Kindred, Bartolomew Kindred, Thomas Kindred, Je an Ball, Mildred Powers, and t heir heirs forever. I consti tute my friends, Samuel Barksdale, Norbourn Powers , execut ors to this my last will and testament.

At a court held for Albemarle County the seventh day of Oct ober, 1805. The last will and testament of Bartholomew Kind red, deceased, was proven by the oaths of John Carr and H . Gates Winston, two of the witnesses thereto, and by the C ourt, ordered to be rec orded, and on the motion of Samue l Barksdale and Norbourn Powers, two of the executors there i n named, certificate is granted therefore, obtaining a pr obate in our form of law on thei r giving bond and security , whereupon they gave bond and security and qualified accor dingly.

Arrived in Albermarle Country, Virginia in 1774 from Northu mberland, England with his four sons: Bartholomew, Jr, Edwa rd, Thomas, and William.
Bartholomew Sr. was A Baptist Minister In Clark County, Ken tucky. Bartholomew Kindred, Sr. was the sixth and last chi ld of William and Jane Kindred. He came to America in 177 4 with his four sons, William, Thomas, Edward, and Bartholo mew Jr. from Northumberland County, England to Albermarle C ounty, Virginia. He served for two months in 1779 in the Re volutionary War.[Master.FTW]
