Whereas on the second day of Sept. 1867 Ann Wood did fil e a petition in the clerks office of the Clinton County Cou rt against James R. Wood and other heirs of John Wood Decd . praying among other things for a division of the lands o f which said John Wood did ????? & possessed among his chil dren and heirs st law and whereas such proceedings were ha d Thereon that at the January term 1868 of said court a dec rie was rendered thereby for such decision thereof and Wm T uggle PH Smith and Jesse Ewing were appointed commissioner s to divide said land among said heirs and whereas on the 3 rd day of February 1868 said comms filed their report of su ch Partition which was approved by the Court and ordered t o record and I was appointed said courts commissioner to ma ke deeds of conveyance for said land, in accordance with sa id report. Now therefore by Virtue of the premises I J. M . Bristow Comm afore said do by these presents convey unt o Sally and James Crawley Lot no 5 which is bounded as foll ows to wit, Beginning at a rock corner to Lot no 4 Thenc e S 67 1/2 W 68 poles to a rock Thence S 47 W 53 poles 19 l inks to a rock on the old line, Thence S 39 E 24 poles 20 l inks to a red elm & black oak S 57 E 42 poles to a poplar o n the old line and corner to lot No 3 N 47 E 68 poles 12 li nks to the beginning. Containing 22 Acres 3 Roods and 35 po les by survey as designated in the report of said commissio nersto have and to hold unto the said Sally and James Crawl ey who are children of Emily Crawley who was a Daughter o f said John Wood Dec'd forever and I hereby covenant to an d with said Sally Ann & James Crawley to said lot of land h ereby conveyed against the claim or claims so far as I am a uthorized so to do by law In witness whereof I have hereunt o set my hand this 3rd day of July 1868 J. M. B ristow Comm.

Bristow Comm to Sally and J ames Crawley was on the 6th day of July 1868 legally acknow ledged by said comm. before the Clinton County Court to b e his act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned and th e same being legally stamped I have duly recorded it togeth er with this certificate in my office.
